BANCON 2011 stands postponed to November 4th – 6th 2011

In view of the rescheduled programme of the Honourable Finance Minister, BANCON 2011 stands postponed from October 16th – 18th  2011 to   November 4th – 6th 2011.

IOB has been awarded the First Prize for in-house Hindi magazine "Vani" for the year 2010-11

Government of India, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises have been giving “National Awards for Excellence in MSE Lending” every year from 2001-02 onwards. 

Indian Overseas Bank has secured the First Prize based on its outstanding performance in MSE lending during the year 2010-11. 

H.E. the President of India handed over the prestigious award to  Mr M. Narendra, Chairman & Managing Director, Indian Overseas Bank, in the presence of Shri Virbhadra Singh, Hon’ble Minister of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, in a grand function held in Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on 2nd September 2011.

BANCON 2011

Greetings from Indian Overseas Bank, one of the top seven nationalised banks of India, currently celebrating its Platinum Jubilee with the message, ‘Touching hearts and Spreading smiles’!

The annual Indian Bankers' Conference (BANCON), has emerged as the Blue Riband event of Indian banking conclaves, where the best of Indian minds meet every year to react, review, reform and rethink on a wide range of banking and related developments. BANCON brings together players, policy makers and regulators on a common platform for two days of stimulating discussions, deliberations and interactions. The side events add their own value to the meet.

Indian Overseas Bank, jointly with Indian Banks’ Association, will be organizing BANCON 2011 on October 17-18, 2011 at Radisson Resort Temple Bay at the historical and heritage beach resort of Mahabalipuram near Chennai.  The Conference will be inaugurated on October 16th (Sunday) afternoon, by the Union Finance Minister, Shri. Pranab Mukherjee.

BANCON 2011, coming as it does on the eve of the 12th Five Year Plan will have, most appropriately, the main theme as, ‘Competing in the Defining Decade for Indian Banking’.

New guidelines received from RBI in respect of failed ATM transactions effective from 01.07.2011
  • The reduction in time limit for resolution of customers complaints reduced from 12 working days to 7 working days.
  • The compensation amount is applicable only if a claim is lodged with the issuing Bank by the customer within 30 days of the date of transaction.
  • The number of 5 free transactions/month at other Bank ATMs shall be inclusive of both financial or non financial.
